Another taxi ride to breakfast.....need energy if we are going to keep up with the kids and take more pictures!
What a beautiful mural!  If they're not on a wall then take a stroll as you enjoy them on the ground.  Full of such vivid colors and detail. Each one tells its own story.
And this was a chocolate plant...Yep, thats right, and we all love chocolate!
Staying cool...under a chocolate tree...

Hot, Hot and Hot, but still smiling  :)
(If you guessed that the cleaning cart on the left is not Erika's, then Your Right!  We know how much she loves to clean... haha)

Hey, does anyone see the monkey in the tree??????

Oh!  That's not a monkey....It's Elesia

Made it free and clear thru customs and out the airport door, only to be bombarded by tons of taxi drivers and they don't understand "No"..."We have a Ride"
Our ride arrived and the adventure began....Never knew how crazy drivers can be!

Not sure what lane we were suppose to be in, or what streets we were turning onto....cause there were no street names!  It's all one block straight, then right at the big tree, around the bend, then left and a sharp
right.  Well, you got my point....

But the view is breathtaking!  Sooo green and full of color.
Arrived at our Condo and immediately starting taking pictures...WOW!  That's all I can say.... you'll have to see for yourself...

The little ones thought they were cool!  Especially Logie...with his new shades and Elesia just closed her eyes (easy fix to a sunny day)

14 pieces of luggage only to arive at Condo and have to hike up several flights of stairs

Take Off Again

Posted on 7:53 PM
We are now off to San Jose, Costa Rica.

Flying at 605 mph, at an altitude of 35,092 ft.  Smooth sailing, until 3 a.m. and we were flying over the Gulf of Mexico.  Turbulence.

Elesia is the only one sensible, and sleeping at this point.  Zzzzzzz.

The rest of us......
Well, thanks to the Caribou Cafe Coffee - I'm up writing in my journal.
Nate was enjoying some T.V. time.
Erika was tossing & turning, and trying to sleep, while Logan was trying to sleep as well.....all while kicking her or the neighbor next to them.
The Corona's - they had a case of the giggles that would not stop.

Oh yeah, and we had a passed out passenger in the back.
Flight #86 with an announcement; "All doctors & nurses, or any medical personel, please report to back of of plane".

That was our 3 a.m. excitement, all while we thought; "Oh no......emergency landing".  But, the lady turned out just fine.  By 4 - 4:30 a.m. - we all finally nodded off to sleep, just in time for the blinding 5 a.m. sunrise.  Oh great!!!  It was beautiful, but just when you really start snoozin.

Denver Landing

Posted on 7:41 PM
Here we are, yes.....getting ready for the 5 hour layover.
Airport was celebrating their 15th year anniversary, so they were passing out cupcakes.  Mmm, the kids enjoyed that.

We had plenty of time to walk around, ride the transit to the other side of the terminal to eat.  Oh yeah, can't forget the coffee at Caribou Cafe.  One strong cup!

We didn't realize, when we took the transit to the other side, that we would have to go through security again, and they had raised the security level up, to orange.

We made it through.

Boarding Time

Posted on 7:33 PM
We boarded first, for the flight from Portland to Denver, CO.  Anxiously waited for take-off.  Kids thought TV's were "awesome" on the back of seats.  Cartoons and Movies for the Olvera Family.

2 1/2 hour flight.....wondering how the next leg will be, with a 5 hour layover, and a midnight flight to San Jose, Costa Rica.

The Other Side

Posted on 7:25 PM
Everyone is ready for the plane ride, except Lil Logie.
(I think the "nervousness" has officially taken place)
Poor guy, tears welled up in his eyes; "But Mom, I'm going to miss my friends".

That's when our job kicks in - that we reassure him, that all will be okay.

We quickly changed the subject; "Logan, are you hungry?"

Logan and Dad ended up at Pizza Schmizza, and the girls at Good Dog Bad Dog.  Yum-Yum!!!

Check-In Time

Posted on 7:19 PM
Arrived at airport at 12:37 p.m.

Check-In with only one glitch....(not too bad!)
My maiden name was still on passport, while "Olvera" was on my ticket!  Just a little problem, but nothing that Michael (our counter rep) couldn't handle.  He straighted it out, while I prayed to Jehovah.

Than of to security, and all was smooth there.  The kids thought this was "pretty cool".  5 pairs of shoes, and I am sure you can imagine how many bins we used to go through the scanners.

A sigh of relief, we made it to the other side with Chaba & Angie, our traveling buds.

Pickup Time 12pm 03/01/2010

Posted on 7:01 PM
Final checklists gone over, and all the last minute tidy-ups all done.  Luggage on porch.

Thanks so much, to my Sis Julie to transport our fleet.  We are loading and off to airport.

Excitement is in the air!

I think we have everything?
Hmm....Ok, maybe not.  Thanks so "sis" turned around and grabbed camera charger (can't forget that).

Pack, Pack and More Packing!

Posted on 6:22 PM
Never thought the packing would end.....ended up with 9 pieces of luggage (Yes, all those were checked on, not including the backpacks
for all of us....which is 14 pieces in all).
And, we can't forget the 2 camera bags too!
You would think we were staying forever....No worries, we will be back.
We already paid for our return tickets. Ha,ha,ha.
We love you all!!!
