Thru the Gates of Bethel...

Posted on 11:36 PM

Welcomed from the front security gate...

and up the driveway we go...

We were setup with an introduction video of the Branch

from Ania, the receptionist

and then our tour guide Cara, which will include tons of pics... I'll post a few tonight and then more in the morning before we leave to Quepos....

A beautiful inside open garden in the middle of the branch

and ones hard at work for Jehovah....

There were sooo many beautiful murals on all the walls, many breathtaking...

I'm sure many will recognize these bible accounts

After a long day, it's off to bed I go. I'll post the rest tomorrow....

Rescued with Tears of Joy!

"What way do we go"?  and a quick prayer crossed the minds of many of us..... Just then, coming out of nowhere was a couple walking down the street all dressed up.  We knew immediately who they were and the best part of it all.... I knew right then that it was Jehovah that came to our rescue!  Just like He promises...  “[Jehovah] will not leave his loyal ones. To time indefinite they will certainly be guarded.”—PS. 37:28.
Yep...they were our 'brothers and sisters' (other Jehovah's Wtnesses) and newly weds of only 5 months from Chiapas, Mexico. 'Angelica and Fernando'.  He is a paramedic, and was here on a business trip and the only other people that were visiting Bethel at the same time as us....

We introduced ourselves and were sooo happy to see them.  They explained to us where we needed to go and it ended up being back at our original location,  just where we came from.  We followed them back to the Bethel Branch, where we were all going to tour.

To Bethel and officially lost!

Posted on 9:24 PM
In a taxi and off to Bethel we go.....zoom zoom.  We arrived at the gate and were 30 mins early, so we started taking pictures... Logan, Erika and Elesia with big smiles upon arrival!

We were sooo glad to be here.  My first time to ever tour a Bethel Branch and what an honor to have it be in Costa Rica.  I can hardly wait to get in...

The gate was closed, so we decided to walk down the hill and check out the other entrance... only to realize that we were at the wrong location and the taxi driver was now gone....We were at the Assemble Hall, not Bethel

Now what?  The guys looked at a map and decided that we were close and we should start walking up the hill and then over a block or so.  We started walking in the hot sun...up a hill (and it was a hill, let me tell you).  We walked and walked and walked, finished bottles of water and then finally reached the top of the hill to only find out that we didn't know where we were...... we were officially lost out in the middle of "Nowhereville" with, keep in mind....no cell phone to call a taxi and we didn't know where we were, because....there are NO street names.

Coffee's on!

Posted on 7:36 PM
Good morning, First things first!  It's coffee and juice time.  I love that most things here are in Spanish and English for us Americanos....

Then a wonderful breakfast that Chaba made.  Can u guess what we ate?  You got it.....rice, beans, eggs and tortillas...yum yum.  It was really good!
Then out to the patio to relax while our food digests.  Here was a cute little critter...we think it was just a squirrel, but not sure.

He was cute!

Time to get ready for our Bethel trip.  We need to be there at 1pm....

Tuesday Night time

Posted on 7:08 PM
Showered and relaxing!  The guys made dinner for us....and it wasn't rice and beans... loaded 'Hot Dogs' for us, and they were yummy!  I never thought a hotdog could taste sooo good.
Then it was off to the patio for evening pictures....

An estate on the hill...

The entrance area of our condo

Thought of you...Bob and Holland.  This is a beautiful course!  Logie and I watched them play

While Nate took his siesta in one chair...zzzzzz

and Elesia in another after a long day in the hot sun.
Off to bed for everyone... a busy day ahead on Wednesday....zzzz

Children's Museum

Posted on 5:13 PM
Ok, hopefully I can get you all caught up todate... Tuesday afternoon, we went into downtown San Jose to eat and tour the Children's Museum.  (The Castle) What a cool place!  This use to be a maximum security prison and was closed down and later turned into a museum, something positive for the community.

Anyone for chess???
or how about playing a note or two...Do,Ray,Mi,Fa...
The kids had a blast pretending they were pilots in this one

and Erika posed for her picture right before lift off.

Logan said, "Don't worry 'Brooklyn',  I've got this fire under complete control!"

I'm a professional... Here's my last photoshot

Welcome to my cafe!  Come on in where Logan provides excellent service...

Cup of coffee anyone?  (I luv this one!)

It was potty break time after all that great costa rican coffee.  Glad the signs had pictures too...

We'll, I think it's time to wrap it up.... Elesia's in disguise

and Erika needs a break...

Round um up... and out front for some pictures

The kids wanted a crazy picture too!!! but Erika stayed far away...
and we needed showers!  Hot and sticky......but lovin it!
On our way back to our condo for our goodbye's and hot showers

What a wonderful surpriseA knock on the door and it's the "Jacksons"... David, Amber and their lil ones: Brooklyn, Noah, and Ruby. So wonderful to see ones from home and have friends to play with...
We decided on heading downtown for food and to tour a museum.  Load um up kids (thanks to Amber and David's nice ride)
Then there's Ruby.....catch me if you can (she is a ball of fun)

Off we go in our taxi...
